Mark Laudon

Mark Laudon is a Certified Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Professional with over 20 years of experience in everything to do with maps/location based services (LBS).  Mark has worked in every aspect of the mapping/LBS industry, ranging from forestry to utilities to government and everything in between.  Mark is currently employed as a Senior Analyst at the City of Surrey, British Columbia.  At the City of Surrey, Mark created an open data download application, allowing citizens to access real time data downloads (http://www.surrey.ca/city-services/8216.aspx).  Mark also runs a software development/consulting business; LaudonTech (http://www.laudontech.com) where he markets an application to locate employees/assets via an interactive floor plan (http://www.floorplanmapper.com).  Mark enjoys creating open data based mashups in the hope of communicating the great value can be realized by sharing data.  Mark's most recent World Bank data mashup: "Save the Rain" exemplifies a real world application already being used worldwide to help conserve rain water.
