Trish Garner

Manager, Web Strategy, The Web Centre, City of Toronto

A lucky participant in the relatively new, highly collaborative and innovative Web Centre at the City of Toronto, Trish is in involved in overhauling toronto.ca, an ambitious and optimistic initiative which encompasses a 360 degree redesign, content management implementation, social engagement, service bundling and open data -- all hopefully leading to more enabled, transparent and accessible government for the citizens of Toronto.

Trish counts herself extremely fortunate to have landed right side up in the midst of a team of bright, agile and extremely imaginative designers, developers, communicators and idea people.

Trish began her career in the private sector, working for architecture and real estate development companies in Western Canada. She has been with the City of Toronto since 1998, leading in-house web and design teams in the corporate communications and information and technology divisions. She is currently pretty much obsessed with all things open -- open data, open 311 and open government among them.
