It all starts with culture...
In the face of increasingly complex business and policy challenges, technological advancements and an accelerating pace of change, the Ontario Public Service (OPS) needs to be ready to tap into the benefits of innovation to better serve the citizens of Ontario.
The OPS Innovation Action Plan is designed to do just that by calling for the organization to foster a stronger culture of innovation. The Action Plan prepares us to meet future challenges while taking advantage of new opportunities and supporting our goal of continuing to be employer of choice. By outlining a clear direction and identifying tangible enterprise-level commitments, the Action Plan provides a common basis for mobilizing the OPS workforce in creating innovation capacity.
The time for fostering a stronger culture of innovation in the OPS is now and the five enterprise-level commitments in the Action Plan will begin to support the organization’s journey toward a fundamental change in how we think and act.
As we build a stronger culture of innovation we will support improved outcomes for Ontarians and build more effective processes within the OPS.
As the manager of Ideas+Innovation, Karen will speak to the plan's creation, implementation and relevance to the public sector in the 21st century.
Session participants will learn why a culture of innovation is important both within large public sector organizations as well as within each of us to meet the challenges we face in delivering meaningful outcomes for the people we serve.
