Web-design - What every non-web person needs to know

Time:
Wednesday, June 8, 2011 - 10:50 - 12:20
Session Room:
CR-2

In this workshop will touch on the three key areas: analysiseditorial and architecture.

1.     Content analysis: Content doesn’t grow on trees. While it would be so much easier if it did, the key to great content is assessing what you have, what you need and where you’re going to get it from. If you have content, how do you use it efficiently? If you need content, what do you need and why? And most importantly, who’s going to write it?

2.     Editorial: It lives! Your content has a life of its own once it’s been published. Do you have a plan for how your content will continue to grow and develop? Who will be involved in the process and what role will they play? When you’ve sent your content out into the world, who will read it and why? How can you make sure that the right people interact with your content once it’s been published?

3.     Architecture:  If you build it, they will come. Content, like anything that is presented visually, needs to be designed. Where are you placing your content? Are you designing your content to highlight important messages? What should your content look like to make it stand out from the crowd and draw the attention of your audience?
